Buying A Baby Stroller? Is So You Need To Read This
A baby is a wonderful addition to a family. However it also comes with some logistical problems, just ask any new parent. Try getting out and about with a new baby and you’ll find it isn’t qutie as simple as it used to be. You need a baby stroller.
But the good news is that now baby strollers are very good. All you had to choose from years ago was a heavy and difficult to use steel pram. Try getting a heavy bulky steel pram in the car, but modern baby strollers are excellent. And baby friendly.
But a modern baby stroller can be folded up easily and put into the car with minimal problems. And taken out and reassembled too. And a good stroller should have good storage for all of mums gear or shopping as well.
Modern strollers are mother friendly and baby friendly. They will have comfortable seats which should recline so that baby can sleep or sit up and look around, and for a growing baby they should also have adjustable footrests. And they must have a solid 5 point adjustable harness that keeps baby secured in the seat at any age. Babies trying to stand up in a pram have been the cause of accidents in the past.
And it’s essential to have a good brake, as modern strollers do. The brake should hold the stroller fully loaded on a significant hill, though you should not stop on a hill unless necessary, and when on a hill stop with the stroller across the hill for maximum safety. And the brake should operate on all wheels with a foot operated action.
And surprisingly, a good baby stroller isn’t as expensive as you would imagine, if you know where to buy. As a new parent you have many expenses, and you don’t need to be spending big on some things. I have just been looking at some excellent brand new cheap triple strollers, for those lucky parents with 3 babies. At around $200 it’s great value and it’s cheap convenience.
So remember, if you have a baby, a stroller is very cheap convenience for you and comfort for baby. It’s way easier to get around using a stroller than it is without. Cheap convenience and comfort.

Here’S Some Tips For Buying A Baby Stroller
Do you have a new baby and you’re thinking of buying a stroller? A baby stroller is a great idea, and makes taking baby out a breeze.
Modern baby strollers are manufactured with convenience in mind. Especially for parents of multiple babies, convenience is very important. After all you don’t want to find that it takes you half an hour to get baby and his or her stroller in the car before you even leave home, then another half hour to get the stroller out of the car and set up, and baby strapped in and ready to go.
What you need is ease of use of a stroller for the parents and comfort for the baby sitting in it. Modern baby strollers provide both.
And you don’t want to pay the earth either. If you know where to find them you can buy strollers for extremely competitive prices. I’ve just been browsing some cheap triple strollers for around $200 brand new. That’s a top price for a triple stroller – if you know where to find them.
And modern strollers have some great features. They have larger wheels than in the past, so you can use them on uneven ground, they have comfortable reclining seats so baby can sit up or recline and sleep, foot rests that can be adjusted as baby gets older. And you should get storage baskets for your shopping.
But when you’re buying a stroller you need to think of a few things. In the past babies have hurt themselves when in a stroller, particularly when trying to stand up, so you need a stroller that prevents baby from standing up.
There are formal standards for strollers in many countries that they must meet before being sold. Here’s a few things you ought to look for in a stroller.
Make sure that the stroller has a good adjustable harness, preferably a 5 point harness. And it needs solid brakes that can hold a fully laden stroller on a real hill. Look for foot operated brakes and brakes where one foot action applies all the brakes.
Front wheels should swivel but be capable of locking if needed.
And NEVER leave a baby on it’s own in the stroller unattended, even if strapped in properly. Don’t stop the stroller without applying the brake even of flat ground, and if parking on a hill park across the hill rather than down it. Preferably don’t park on a hill. And don’t attach a dog lead to the stroller as you may look away and find your dog, and stroller, and baby, have taken off.

It’s Time to Go Shopping for a Baby Stroller
You just found out your pregnant and you are ready to go shopping. Since you are going to be an on the go mom a baby stroller might be one of the things you want to invest in first. There are so many choices out there in styles and colors that having a little bit of an idea what you want in a baby stroller before you go can be helpful. Otherwise you may go out shopping and be overwhelmed and end up spending too much money.
Looking at strollers online is usually a good way to start shopping. This way you are able to compare many different brands and prices in less time rather than driving all over town. More than likely if you are on the go all the time you are actually going to need more than one baby stroller in your baby?s first three years of their life. The first baby stroller is a systems stroller.
It might sound funny to have a system for your baby stroller but by buying this type of stroller you will be saving money. This type of baby stroller will also be used as a car seat, a carrier and a baby stroller. This is 3 in 1 and saves a lot of money and time. You will not have to keep changing your baby in and out of car seats and carriers. This is less exposure to the baby and the weather as well. These baby strollers come in many shapes, sizes and designs to match whatever baby theme you have chosen, but as your baby grows so does their needs in baby strollers.
As your baby grows they will eventually need a bigger car seat, baby stroller and there will be no need for a carrier. Time to upgrade to a full size baby stroller, but again there are many choices to fit your life style. First things first though it will matter just how many babies you are having. If you are having twins the more you will have to have a baby stroller designed for the amount of children you are having. Also if you have an infant already and need a baby stroller for the older child as well as the infant, then you will need to choose a stroller that will work for both children. These are some of the first things that will help you narrow down your choices for your next baby stroller.
Good luck on your shopping spree for your new baby stroller. There is every design, style and color that you need to fit into your lifestyle. Your baby will be ready to go out in style with you in their new baby stroller.

Baby Stroller Safety Tips For Safety Conscious Parents
Isn’t it wonderful when you bring your first baby home? Suddenly your life has changed forever, and in ways you didn’t even think about before baby. You’re about to discover how much more difficult it is to get around now with a baby than it was before baby. You need a baby stroller.
And you’ll find that there are some practical problems getting around with a new baby too. Suddenly you can’t rush out at the last minute, jump in the car and go. Getting in the car with baby has become a longer more drawn out process.
Probably your mum and dad had a pram for you. Probably a steel pram that weighed a ton and wasn’t easy to get around. Or to get into the car. Your parents probably struggled to get pram and baby into the car and away in under 20 minutes.
But modern stroller manufacture processes allow for the manufacture of baby strollers that are way more user friendly. They are way lighter and so easier to push around, which takes the strain off, and often have larger wheels. They are usually made of plastic and fold up extremely well to go in the car.
And there’s many more benefits to a modern baby stroller too. They should have reclining seats, so baby can either sit up or lie down, and so is much more comfortable at any time. And they have adjustable footrests too, so as baby grows the footrest can be moved.
And they have storage space for mums gear or shopping, and they have brakes so that you can stop the stroller confidently.
And there’s some safety issues attached to brakes too. Make sure that you have a foot operated brake that operates on all wheels, and can hold a fully laden stroller on a hill. Don’t stop on a hill unless absolutely necessary, and if you do stop across the hill rather than facing down it.
And whilst I’m talking about safety there’s more. You should get a fully adjustable and solid safety harness that is anchored in 5 places. It should be done up tightly, there have been accidents in the past where baby has been able to stand up in a pram or stroller.
And here’s a couple more safety tips for the safe use of baby strollers. If you need to take baby and stroller up stairs then look for a lift. It’s very difficult to take a baby in a stroller up stairs safely. If you must then take baby out of the stroller, but better not to go up.
And finally, if you’re taking your dog with you, don’t tie your dog lead to the stroller. Chances are you’ll turn around and back to find that your stroller has taken off with your baby in it following a running dog.
Remember too, a stroller is extremely affordable. You can find very good new strollers if you know exactly where to find them for a very low price. It’s affordable comfort for baby and convenience for you.

How To Pick The Right Baby Stroller
No baby stroller is going to be great for everything you’ll do in the coming years. So, take a little time thinking about what you most need… many parents discover that one good-quality lightweight stroller for errands and travel, combined with one jogging stroller or full-sized stroller, is a great match for all needs!
FROM WOMB TO WHEELS – AGE PLAYS A ROLE
Birth to six months is the period where your child doesn’t have adequate head and neck control for an upright stroller. You’ll need to find a stroller onto which you can attach your infant seat, one that has a bassinet, or one rated for newborns.
From 6+ months and older, the stroller world really opens up to you! Unless your baby has special needs, she or he can ride in nearly any stroller out there.
Caution when jogging! Pediatricians warn against too much jarring until your baby has very good head/neck control, usually 8 to 10 months.
WALK MUCH?
If you’ll be using a stroller daily for more than just going from your car into a store, you’ll love having one that is comfortable and smooth to push. Neighborhood walks and paths are so much more enjoyable with a great rolling stroller.
This is where trying out hands-on pushing is tough to replace with online browsing. If purchasing online, be SURE you read reviews on how a stroller pushes and handles prior to making a purchase (on PeppyParents.com, we’ve already done all that work for you!).
Generally, larger wheels mean easier pushing. Real rubber tires mean better handling. Suspension (shock absorbers) mean smoother ride. On-board engines mean less work (okay, we made up the one about the engine).
If you don’t intend to use a stroller as much more than a car-into-store-back-to-car device, it’s not as critical to worry about the ride.
SIZE MATTERS! AND SO DOES WEIGHT.
The lightest good quality stroller available is around 8 pounds — about the weight of a gallon of water. And, full-sized, full-featured strollers can tip the scales past 30 pounds.
Think about how often you’ll be lifting the stroller up stairs, into your car, or into a closet. If it’s something you’ll be doing daily, try to balance weight with features and performance.
Generally speaking, lighter weight strollers have less features and a less refined ride. They’re typically smaller and might have a less comfortable seat for your baby. The lightweights might also lack some convenient adjustments too. The ONLY reason to get an ultra lightweight (i.e., under 10 pounds) stroller is for frequent car errands or travel.
If you find a full-featured, full-size standard stroller that is under 20 pounds, you’re doing very well. Most are under 25 pounds.
Expect the very lightest all-terrain stroller to tip the scales at 20 pounds, as well as the very lightest joggers. Most are under 25 pounds.
As far as size, look at the folded size when making your decision. Even if weight is the same, it’s much easier to lift, carry, and store a stroller that is less bulky when folded.
AND NOW, THE FEATURE PRESENTATION
All the features are where it really gets more confusing, as no stroller has all of them. Here are some of the more popular ones:
Reverse handle or seat — this lets you face your baby as you push. Very sweet.
Cupholder — if not included, don’t despair! You can buy universal-fit cupholders.
Storage basket — you’re going to need it for snacks, diapers, wipees, bottles. The bigger, the better.
Sun Canopy — unless you live deep in a shaded forest, sun protection is very important. Bigger sun canopies provide better protection.
Adjustable handle — very important for parents who are under 5′3″ or taller than 6″. A nice feature for all other parents.
Reclining seat — some strollers are easier to recline than others.
5-point harness — safety is paramount, and this is the safest type of harness.
Adjustable legrest — one more way to make it more comfortable for your growing child.
Bumper bar — (also called grab bar, toy bar) handy for securing toys in front of your baby while you stroll. Toddlers enjoy it too.
Snack tray– popular on American brands, but not on many others.

Adi Weber, co-inventor of the Strollometer, with her kids. |
Made by Parents, for Parents
Co-invented by Adi and Don Weber, the Strollometer is the product of parents who wanted to get more out of their strolls.
Our inspiration for the Strollometer came about one month after I gave birth to our third child, Deena. I would often take my daughter on strolls in an attempt to squeeze in a good workout while she napped. Unfortunately, I never knew how far I went, how fast I strolled, or whether my “workout” would ever measure up to the workouts I was familiar with at my gym. Nothing designed for bikers or walkers gave me the information, accuracy or ease I wanted. The idea for the Strollometer was born. And by designing it from the ground up, we made sure it could easily strap-on to any stroller–whether it’s traditional, all-terrain or jogging.
Happy strolling! — Adi
How it Works
The Strollometer features easy-to-read display screens that help you keep tabs on your stroll:
Current Speed: Like a treadmill, you always know how fast or how slow you’re strolling. Feeling good? Why not pick up the pace? |
Maximum Speed: You powerstroll through the neighborhood. A nice flat stretch is up ahead…you pick up the pace…But make sure you jog or run only with a jogging stroller. |
Average Speed: You stroll for 50 minutes at an average speed of 4 mph. You feel great. Tomorrow try strolling a touch faster. |
Trip Distance: No more retracing your route with your car to see how far you’ve gone. You stroll for two and a half miles. Why not make it an even three? |
|
|
|||
Trip Time: Time flies when you’re on a stroll. Why not add an extra 15 minutes and feel even better? |
Daily Mileage: You run errands. You spend the afternoon at the mall. You run more errands. Was it a day without exercise? Hardly. Today’s tally: 2.6 miles and counting. |
Ambient Temperature: You walk into a restaurant and suddenly it hits you: this place is cold. You glance at your Strollometer. Yup, time to pull out the blankie. |
Clock Time: Baby yoga at 10. Lunch date at noon. Pediatrician at 3. You’ve got the current time–whether your Strollometer is on or off. |
Easy to Install
The Strollometer is wireless and straps-on, straps-off any stroller. Just follow these simple steps and you’ll be up and strolling in seconds:
Strap console band onto stroller handlebar. |
Slide console onto band. |
Place adhesive-backed magnetic strip onto outermost edge of the rear wheel. |
Strap on stroller leg and position sensor over magnet. |
Baby Car Seat Stroller
Baby Car Seat Stroller
By Paul Picher
When parents travel with a small child, they always consider the safety of their precious bundle when they need to drive or travel. Baby seats have been designed so that the infant or child does not get hurt in case of an accident. But parents cannot carry the infant all the time especially when they are shopping or sight seeing. Thus the need for a stroller so that their hands can be free and both the parents and the child can be comfortable. But there are advantages and disadvantages in using a baby car seat stroller.
A baby car seat stroller or traveler is a combined baby car seat and baby stroller in one. This is handy for parents who don’t want to spend extra money on separate strollers and baby seats. The advantages of having a stroller is that when you will be driving you can remove the baby seat from the stroller and attach it to the seat of your vehicle, then stow the stroller in the trunk or back of your car. When you get to your destination, you can just re-attach the baby seat back to the stroller. Another advantage with the stroller is that the accessories have been tested for safety together with the car seat and the stroller.
One of the disadvantages of having a baby car seat stroller may be its size or bulkiness. Parents will already have to deal with the extra baggage containing the baby’s diapers and feeding bottles, so it may be a hassle having to deal with stowing away the bulky stroller. Many parents also do not consider getting a stroller, instead they get separate baby strollers and baby seats for their child. They can simply strap the baby seat in the stroller the same way a stroller is strapped. In terms of safety, what matters most is the baby seat when parents do travel or go out.
As with baby seats, one should check if there have been any product recalls for the baby car seat stroller. Parents should check this one out especially if they are using a used stroller. Parents also need to make sure that the car seat will fit the child and can be attached properly to the seat of their vehicle. No matter how trendy looking the stroller may look with its color coordination, it will not serve its’ purpose if the baby seat cover cannot be properly installed. The same precautionary measures should be used in considering a baby car seat stroller and a plain baby seat cover.
Another factor parents need to consider when they will get a baby car stroller when it comes to its’ bulkiness is how much more space is left when the stroller is stowed at the back of their vehicle. As with all baby strollers, parents need to check if the bulkiness of the stroller when stored will take up all the space in the trunk or back of their vehicles.
